PPG expands its DELFLEET ONE® Paint System with Two New Primers

PPG today announced the introduction of two new primers to its market leading Delfleet One paint system across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Joining PPG’s wash primer offerings, F890X High Build Epoxy Primer and F895X PU Primer are designed to provide the highest levels of quality, performance, and protection for commercial transportation vehicles. These primers have been developed for use in conjunction with Delfleet One paint products, with key systems certified to ISO12944-6 standard under certain application conditions.

Commercial vehicles spend long periods of time on the road in varying and often unpredictable weather conditions.  This means that effective protection against damage and corrosion is key to reducing the need for costly repairs and maximising the working life of the vehicle.

Both of these primers deliver great corrosion resistance and are suitable for application to substrates including steel and aluminium as part of a two-stage system.

F890X High Build Primer is ideal for providing excellent all-round performance. This high build, low-VOC epoxy primer adheres well to most of the substrates commonly used in commercial vehicle bodies and its flexible surface helps to prevent impact damage to the vehicle. Ensuring long-lasting and durable corrosion resistance, F890X primer can be used together with Delfleet One F80XX topcoats as part of a two-stage system which meets ISO12944-6 C5M corrosion standard when applied to steel.

F895X PU Primer is the recommended choice for achieving corrosion resistance with maximum efficiency. This low-VOC primer performs best when used to coat aluminium surfaces with a smooth finish that allows fast recoating. F895X PU Primer can be used as part of a two-stage system along with Delfleet One topcoats (UHS High Build Epoxy and Performance PU). When applied to steel, this system also meets ISO12944-6 C5M corrosion standard.
